September 2010 :: PRECIOSA & RECENT SALES |
Preciosa ADF
Our four year old Navarre daughter, Preciosa ADF is all grown up and in dressage training. She made the long trip from Florida to California as a long yearling and we have enjoyed her calm demeanor and trainability ever since. She has grown from gangly to gorgeous and now is 16.1hh. She was Revised last year into the ANCCE PRE Studbook and at that time she was already a veteran of the Topete method of baby training.....short gentle sessions which produce willing, attentive, polite horses. After months of long lining and under saddle training with Tony, she was sent to Villa Rosa Dressage in Hollister CA to be prepared for sale. Now she is available for $35000. Call Heidi Gaian @ 831.297.2621 for more information. She is a versatile young horse suitable for competition, breed shows, breeding and as a superb equine companion.
Saying Good-Bye and Hello
In September, Nobleza ADP and Euforia are going to Katie Hill's Waterway Farm. Katie owns the young dark bay PRE stallion Kamiakin AK and these two fillies will join Gabacha AK in Katie's brood mare band.
In return, we are welcoming Prospero W and Atticus W to WATCHMAN. These two Iberian Warmbloods will enter training with Tony Topete in preparation for for future dressage careers.
Isis WAE will be traveling to Pennsylvania to start Jennifer Cerene's PRE breeding program. Isis represents the tried and true recipe for an outstanding show horse/brood mare by crossing Navarre GF on a Genil daughter/granddaughter. Maybe we will be able to convince Jen to breed to Fugitivo when Isis grows up. But for now, WATCHMAN is happy to have our offspring on the East Coast in Pennsylvania and West Virginia (True North Farm).

August 2010 :: FUGITIVO XII |
Today is one of the most important and exciting days in the WATCHMAN story. Today Fugitivo XII became a part of WATCHMAN PRE Horses. However, we feel this stallion is bigger than our farm and his role in the establishment of the P.R.E. breed in America is greater than simply to be our farm stallion.
So he will have a separate website and identity and while we will be breed him to our champion mares, we hope anyone that desires to add the heritage of this ancient breed to their program, will consider Fugitivo XII. His conformation, size and especially his talent and physique for dressage will attract mares of other breeds and that in time he will establish himself as an improvement sire for performance in the United States.
These are big dreams for a very unique stallion. Calificado, Champion of Champions, Best Movement Champion, Horse of the Year, USDF All Breeds Award...at age 8 he is only beginning. He has already sired 7 fabulous colts and fillies for us and there are others as well...heartfelt thanks go out to all those that have brought this stallion to our door especially Shelly Rigisich, Pam Nelson, and Heidi Gaian and to those in the future who will choose to include this stallion in their breeding and performance programs.

July 2010 :: 2010 FOALS ARE GROWING UP |
Our 2010 foals are growing up and new pictures are in order....here they are
|
|
|
|
Cleopatra WAE |
Rumba WAE |
Alexandra WAE |
Nefertiti WAE |
We are thinking about retaining Alexandria for our breeding program as this filly gives us the continuation of the incredible Gloriosa VII dam line. For those of you looking for a future breeding stallion, consider Ramses...3 Qualified Stallions are very close up in his pedigree, he is beautiful and can MOVE...Nefertiti is the first filly Europa has given us and she strongly resembles her award winning dam but with the added bonus of Fugitivo's movement. Alegria is another very lovely Navarre GF filly...add her to your herd and you get beauty, type, conformation, and movement.
Our Embryo Transfer Program has been successful and we have 5 pregnant surrogate mares. These babies come from our Qualified mares, Doctora AK and Fabulilla MR who were bred to Fugitivo XII, Farucco LXXXIII or Acertijo JIM. Expected in 2011, now is the time to purchase in utero foals of the highest quality at substantial savings. All are eligible for full ANCCE papers.

May 2010 :: FOALING SEASON ENDS |
|
|
|
|
Cleopatra WAE |
Rumba WAE |
Alexandra WAE |
Nefertiti WAE |
WATCHMAN has completed the 2010 foaling season. Dreams are one thing but reality is another and we are so happy to announce the arrival of four beautiful daughters from Fugitivo XII as well as one son. The season began on March 20 when Fabulilla delivered a fabulous gray filly who strongly resembles her 2009 colt, Aguileno WAE. On a whim, we named her Cleopatra WAE and thus began our naming theme for 2010, Egyptian rulers...not for any reason but just for fun.
Doctora AK and Galera X were due on the same day, April 11 and that is where the drama began for us. After keeping us sleepless for 8 days, Doctora finally gave us a filly so similar to Samba from last year, we named her Rumba. Galera was another story, imagine the intrigue and exhaustion as we waited a full 20 days for her to deliver her filly on May 2. It was worth the wait though, when we saw Alexandra laying in the straw. This is the leggiest filly I have ever seen and it looks like she will match her 17.1hh mother in height at maturity.
Eneida and Europa changed our luck as both delivered early. Eneida foaled our only colt for the season on May 5. We have named him Ramses after the Egyptian Pharaoh. Our last filly came 10 days early from Europa. Her name is Nefertiti.
It appears that the gray mares have given us gray fillies since both babies came with silver eyeliner and the three bay mares delivered bays. Of course, DNA tests will be needed to confirm the color of Alexandra, Ramses and Nefertiti.
Here are a few pictures of our youngsters. Cleopatra WAE will be going home with Maria O'Brien of Enchanted Horses upon weaning and Rumba WAE will join her sister, Samba WAE at Yeguada Charileen. Nefertiti WAE will be retained for our breeding program. Ramses WAE and Alexandra WAE will be available for purchase.
We owe thanks to Fugitivo XII and his owner, Shelly Lucero. What a stallion!!! Keep tuned for more pictures as this crew grows up.

WATCHMAN is happy to add Zutano to the our herd. This fantastic 3 year old colt with be trained and exhibited by our trainer, Antonio Topete Diaz. Zutano is 17hh and it is easy to see the wonderful bone and structure he has.

January 2010 :: SPRING BABIES! |
The days are getting longer and the spring grass is beginning to appear...
soon the rains will pass and the first WATCHMAN foal will arrive. March, April and May will be busy times for us as we are expecting 7 babies this year. We chose a great young stallion for our ladies and can hardly wait to see his get. Fugitivo XII was imported as a three year old and became the National Morphology and Best Movement Champion within a month of arrival. Two years later he again was National Champion at Celebration and became one of the first stallions Qualified in America. Now he is in advanced dressage training at Villa Rosa under Heidi Gaian with coaching visits from Juan Matute preparing for his Prix St. Georges debut.
These foals will be spectacular judging from the two Fugitivos we had in 2009. All are for sale at prices reflective of our times. Choose your favorite mare and give us a call before the foals arrive and give yourself the gift of a first rate dressage prospect at a reasonable cost....we expect grays, bays and possibly a black.
Fabulilla and Doctora are now documented as exemplary Spanish mares and when bred to a CALIFICADO stallion are expected to produce a very high quality foal free of genetic orthopedic defects. Check back this spring to see our foals from Qualified stock.
